Established as a Residential Home since 1961, Wynfield House caters exclusively to the needs of profoundly deaf older/vulnerable residents. All our staff are trained in the use of British Sign Langauage (BSL) and we are committed to the principle that all of our residents have the right to communicate in the way they choose to.
Wynfield House is a large, beautiful home located in a pleasant residential area of the town. There are extensive gardens which are enjoyed by our residents. We offer a clean, safe environment where people can live happy lives helped by professional staff who will ensure that their care needs are met.
We offer comfortable accommodation, home cooked food and an understanding of the needs of our residents most of whom have been with us for many years. Highlights from our extensive activities list include:
- Regular trips out for lunch, to our own deaf club, to the Christmas pantomime, to view Blackpool Illuminations and for drives in the country or by the local seafront.
- We have our own mini-bus to make trips out easier for everyone.
- Weekly activities include gentle exercise classes, crafts, home shopping, themed meals, pet visits, special events, a summer fair, gardening and more.
